UK-headquartered SiSaf will use funds from the financing round to treat rare genetic bone and eye conditions. It will also expand its pipeline across multiple debilitating genetic disorders.

SiSaf developed Bio-Courier – a non-viral, hybrid carrier that enables the safe and efficient targeted delivery and transfection of therapeutic small interfering ribonucleic acids (siRNA). This technology helps in creating drugs for a plethora of diseases that can’t be treated through conventional methods.

“We believe SiSaf is well on the way to making the most sweeping change to RNA therapeutics ever made, helping to deliver on the promise of true personalized medicine,” said Vickers chairman Finian Tan.

The VC firm focuses on life sciences, technology, media, telecommunications, consumer, and financial services as well. Vickers is also targeting a US$500 million raise for its latest fund VI and has started investing from the fund after the first close in Oct 2019.

Vickers has also backed cloud-based artificial intelligence platform Chooch AI, Indonesia-based video platform Migo, and fintech company MatchMove, among others.

SiSaf previously raised US$6.8 million in its last round of funding, led by Croda International.
