Ex-CEO of Rocket Internet-backed Carmudi hired to lead Antler’s Indonesian unit

Antler, a startup accelerator and early-stage venture capital firm, has appointed Subir Lohani as its new country head for Indonesia. Lohani is the former CEO of Rocket Internet-backed Carmudi, an online classifieds site for cars.

Experience:

• Lohani has also been part of the founding team at Digiasia Bios, an Indonesia-based fintech firm, where he was involved in product development, strategic partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions.
• The senior executive also served for two years as the assistant vice president of Barclays Capital, where he was part of the debt capital markets team that focused on high-yield, investment-grade, and private-structured transactions, among other things.

More details:

• The newly appointed country head will lead Antler’s Jakarta unit, which will invest in companies through a fund dedicated to Southeast Asian firms starting from January 2022.
• Antler’s Indonesia unit will look at inducting about 10 to 15 startups in its first cohort. It intends to bring 100 startups onboard within the next four to five years.
