What they said about #tiablr2016

overheard at tiablr2016 (1)

It was a first for us: setting up a full-scale, two-day conference in Bangalore. The main aim of Tech in Asia Bangalore 2016 was to connect the local tech ecosystem with the region’s, allowing learnings to be gleaned through insights from industry heavyweights, and forging meaningful connections.

How did it turn out? Let’s take look at the conference through the eyes of our attendees.

Goooood morning Bangalore!

All ahoy!

The startups at Bootstrap Alley kicked some serious ass this year, we were told.

One attendee even came up to us and shared his happiness at finding a co-founder for his startup at our conference! Such feedback makes us want to work harder to provide greater value for all attendees – and we are doing our best to achieve that.

Delivering a pleasant event experience for attendees is a priority for us too. If you’ve been to previous Tech in Asia conferences, you’d have realised we moved the Speed-Dating queues online. Did it work better? Let us know in the comments below!

There were definitely aspects that could have been improved.

One of them, wifi was.

The acoustics weren’t the best either.

We have noted your feedback and will work even harder to ensure that these issues are tackled the next time we meet.

Thankfully, a spotty wifi couldn’t stop inspiring quotes from our speakers streaming in all day long.

The Panel Without Fear was definitely one of the most enjoyed sessions from the main stage. Only standing room was available, and the audience was visibly entertained by the engaging speakers, breaking out into laughter and clapping at their candid comments.

Meanwhile, many others found practical wisdom from the expert stages.

Look, ma! We’re on TV!

After the nail-biting Arena pitch battle on Day 2, Greedy Game was the chosen startup who took home the Arena trophy and US$10,000 cash prize. Congratulations!

With that, it marked the end of an eventful two days at #tiablr2016. We’re thrilled to have played a part in bringing together India’s buzzing and dynamic community with the region’s, as well as having the opportunity to meet several talented and driven people.

The Tech in Asia team would like to extend a wholehearted thank you to each and every one of our sponsors, partners, volunteers, speakers, and attendees who helped make our first conference in Bangalore such an enjoyable and memorable one.

Now, we look ahead for the next conference in Tokyo on September 6 and 7. Mark your calendars, get your passes – and we’ll see you there!
