Recently, I came across an interesting post in Tomorrow Sg about the insensitive comments made by bureaucrats in Singapore. One of the topics discussed in that article by Gayle Goh entitled “The ‘thoughtfulness’ of our government”. The Legal Janitor has also offered his few cents worth on how incompetence from bureaucrats undermines good economic policy. I share similar sentiments with these authors, but I have to take the other side of the coin to say that I have met others from EDB and SPRING who bears good common sense and provide interesting perspectives to the entrepreneurial scene in Singapore.
Since the founders of SG Entrepreneurs have settled on the apolitical stance (which explains why we did not write anything on SG politics so far), we offered our perspective through one of the issues discussed in their articles, which is the issue of outsourcing. Since Gwen, our fellow editor will be taking a long holiday to South America (I wish that I can do that too), we have decided to “outsource” by signposting to articles by entrepreneurs out there in the world. At least, we will not be accused that SG Entrepreneurs are living in an air-conditioned nation. - Everyday Entrepreneurs has posted a few articles worth reading: Top 10 reasons to become entrepreneur and starting a business in India. For those who are still wondering about how to do it in Singapore, here is your step by step guide to starting up a business in Singapore.
- Jack Yan, a frequent commentator and visitor to our blog, has written an interesting article that talks about the simplicity of doing business in New Zealand. Here is the link to his article. I do enjoy his blog, particularly on discussing issues and examples of good and bad marketing and branding. He also commented on the state of marketing in New Zealand.
- Guy Kawasaki needs no introduction. Recently, I received a nice email from him, as I lament that we share common friends but have not met up. Oh yes, I still have my autographed copy of “The Art of the Start”. For this week, an article of interest entitled “Top 10 lies of marketers” has popped up in our weekly review. Alain Thys has written a counter piece “The Top Ten Truths of “Real†Marketers”.
