Square Enix has announced that Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call is getting a couple unexpected additions to its character roster.
Introducing Machina and Rem.
These two characters were seen in the PlayStation Portable exclusive Final Fantasy Type-0. If you are asking yourself, “Who?” it’s for a good reason. Type-0 never saw an international release, which means for the vast majority of people out there, Rem and Machina will be completely new characters.
Don’t worry though. Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call will have over 60 playable characters and 200 songs that span nearly every single title in the Final Fantasy universe. You are bound to find some of your old favorites to play with.
And if that’s not enough, Square Enix also released some of the monsters and villains that you will be facing in this rhythm game. Final Fantasy fans are sure to see some familiar faces in this villain list; take a look:
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call will be released on April 24, 2014 in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS. So far no word on an international release, but seeing how the first Theatrhythm made it overseas and “Curtain Call” has been trademarked in Europe, we have high hopes for an international release. We will let you know if there are any developments.
Theatrhythm is even getting its own 3DS:
