The mind behind Final Fantasy Tactics, Yasumi Matsuno has teamed up with Playdek to create a rich tactical RPG, but the game may never be anything more than an idea if we don’t step up.
Playdek has taken their game, Unsung Story, to Kickstarter in order to crowdfund the game. Playdek is asking for $600,000 to make the game available for PC, Mac, and Linux, but unfortunately has only raised $476,201 so far. They are far from their goal, and to make matters worse, the Kickstarter ends on Friday. Yikes!
Unsung Story has a rather unique approach to the RPG genre that allows you to follow several heroes throughout the Seventy-Seven Year War of Rasfalia. The life of each hero will be covered in a single chapter, and these chapters will span the entirety of the war. This is an approach that will allow us to see the war through multiple protagonists and from different vantage points. A truly refreshing style that I, for one, feel is worth funding.
But unfortunately, I don’t have a spare $125,000 just sitting in my bank account. We need to all join together and make Unsung Story a reality.
Don’t think for a second that this Kickstarter is all about handouts though. Playdek has listed out a series of tiered rewards that range from a digital copy of the game to dinner and drinks with the creators. Your reward depends on the money you decide to invest, and trust me there are some pretty nifty rewards.
Also if enough people decide to invest in the next few days, the game might get a console release. These are pretty great incentives if you ask me. So come on people get out there and support this game!
