8 Tech Startups in Asia That Caught Our Eye This Week

We covered several new and interesting tech startups in Asia this week. Check them all out below. This week also saw Xiaomi raised a whopping $216 million which took everyone by surprise. It is certainly one of our top news for the week.


1. Chang Ba | China


In a way, it’s amazing there wasn’t a good karaoke app for Chinese iPhone users years ago. After all, the KTV (China’s term for karaoke) experience is a big part of the entertainment scene in China. But Chen Hua, the man behind ‘Chang Ba,’ an iPhone KTV app that’s growing swiftly in popularity, is probably not too upset that no one beat him to the punch. His app took China by storm.


2. Quafrica | China


There’s another contender in the luxury travel e-commerce sector in China in the form of Quafrica, which specializes in adventure tours to – as its name suggests – the African continent.


3. PoshVine | India


PoshVine, a Bangalore-based startup announced this afternoon that it has received seed funding from MyFirstCheque this week.


4. Summon Auntie | Singapore


Summon Auntie, an app that helps Singaporean drivers evade parking meter attendants, has officially launched the fifth version of its app. Look slick.


5. Burpple | Singapore


Burpple, has officially launched the latest version of its social food journal app with support for simplified Chinese text. It has also integrated Sina Weibo, allowing seamless sharing to the popular Chinese social network. Kudos to the team.


6. Wishkoo | Indonesia


Wishkoo.com aims to ease the process for the gift-buying friends as now people can not only pitch in online to buy gifts, but they can also create their own wish list in the hope that other people would make their wish come true.
