    Nintendo confirmed today that its CEO and president Satoru Iwata, 55, died yesterday (July 11) after a battle with cancer, reports the AFP.

    Iwata began working at Nintendo-affiliated HAL Laboratory in the 1980s as a programmer. He moved to Nintendo proper in 2000 and was appointed president in 2002.
