How To Reward Your Facebook Fans Offline

taggoWhile there are many brands on Facebook, few of them are actually rewarding and connecting with their fans offline. How many of them are genuinely showing appreciation for fans that help spread their name farther?

Not many. This is because there is a natural disconnect between reality and the virtual world of Facebook. Taggo, a Singapore-based start-up is trying to build a bridge between the two that allows brands to reward fans when they physically visit their stores.

We met up with Aneace Haddad and Aaron Koh, the CEO and Business Development person at Taggo respectively, to find out how exactly they plan to do all this. The idea is simple and from what we can see so far, many brands are impressed with Taggo’s product. Aaron gave us a demonstration and we have some screenshots to show below.

How it Works

1. Liking the brand on Facebook

It’s common for people to like a brand on Facebook. But the customer experience can be further enhanced if a tangible reward is included for liking the brand. A Facebook fan of a brand, say Volt Cafe for example, could enter his mobile number (or any unique identity number) to register under the brand’s Taggo-powered reward system to enjoy the benefits.

2. Claiming the reward

This page will appear on the retailer's Point-of-Sales (POS) system.

Once registered, the fan could visit Volt Cafe and inform the staff that he is a Facebook fan. By tracking the user’s mobile phone number, he automatically gets a reward or perhaps a discount. Retailers can customize their own reward through the Facebook admin page.

3. Sharing the news on Facebook

When a reward is claimed, a status update will be posted on the user’s wall. Note that the copy and image are both customizable to make the updates social and fun. Here’s an example. It kind of works like a Facebook Sponsored Story ad:
