Top 10 Ask Me Anything sessions in 2015

2015 saw the inception of Tech in Asia‘s Ask Me Anything (AMA) segment, where the community gets to ask our spontaneous hosts questions about their startup or investment journey, personality at work, their thoughts on work culture and even some personal questions.

Here are the top 10 AMAs of 2015:

10. Hugh Mason, Co-Founder & CEO of JFDI

hughmason

Hugh Mason took to the AMA stage sharing insights with the TIA community about his accelerator “JFDI – Joyful Frog Digital Incubator”. The community asked Hugh questions about how accelerators earn money, his advise about the different terms around and what he thinks are different with Asian founders and if the Asian culture brings something different to the table.

Here are some of the Q&As we liked:

Q: As a mentor for start-up programs, what is the piece of advice you would give that you reckon is the most important.

A:Identify a problem worth solving for a customer who can afford to pay, rather than starting with an ‘idea’, which is usually a solution looking for a problem!

Q: Oprah has this section in her magazine where she answers one thing: What do you know for sure?

A: “Love is the only thing that matters” and “This Too Shall Pass”

Kunal Shah of FreeCharge hosted the AMA segment following the acquisition from Snapdeal earlier in the year. The man behind the largest acquisition in India’s tech eco-system answered the community’s questions on dropping out as an MBA student, why he doesn’t read any books on startups and if he thought the acquisition was luck or hard work.

8. Vinnie Lauria, Managing Partner at Golden Gate Ventures

7. Jon Russell, Writer for TechCrunch
