Startup which helps build chatbots, voice bots raises $78m in series C round

Customer experience automation platform Yellow.ai announced it has raised US$78.15 million in series C round led by WestBridge Capital along with Sapphire Ventures, and Salesforce Ventures. Existing investor Lightspeed Venture Partners also participated in this round.

With the fresh infusion of capital, Yellow.ai intends to deepen investments in global expansion, hire talent across regions, and applied research and development in hyper-automation.

The current round brings the six-year-old startup’s total funding raised to US$102.15 million, to date.

Its revenue has gone up 4x as compared to last year, claims the startup which has offices across 6 countries, including India, the US, UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Yellow.ai currently has over 500 employees across India and the Asia Pacific region, the company’s co-founder Raghu Ravinutala told Tech in Asia.

Yellow.ai owns a proprietary natural language processing (NLP) engine which enables customers to build chatbots and voice bots in over 100 languages to automate functions like customer support, customer engagement, and conversational commerce. The platform comes pre-integrated with over 100 enterprise applications like Salesforce, Shopify, Cisco, and SharePoint.

“With its enterprise-grade platform battle-tested across several hundred deployments in the most active messaging market in the world, namely Asia, Yellow.ai is now continuing its growth through global expansion to North America, Latin America, and Europe,” Dev Khare, partner at Lightspeed India Partners said in a statement.
