Appmazinc Offers Conference, Workshops, Competition, and More for Indonesian Mobile Developers

Digital content developer Kibar Kreasi looks to hold Appmazinc: Mobile Apps Camp 2012 on November 16 to 17 at Indonesia University, Depok. The two-day event will be comprised of a conference, tech exhibition, and job expo for the mobile tech industry. The event is fully supported by processor manufacturer Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM).

The conference will cover the latest tech information on four topics – Android, Windows Phone, Qualcomm’s Brew, and Qualcomm’s SDK (Software Development Kit). Kibar Kreasi will also hold one-day workshops on the four topics on October 6 at Indonesia University as well, except for the Brew OS workshop which will be held for three days starting on October 4.

The conference will invite speakers from Qualcomm, Indonesian mobile app developer 7 Langit, augmented reality developer AR&Co, and telco infrastructure developer Jatis Mobile. Indonesian mobile payment gateway m-Saku and Kibar Kreasi will also take to the stage there.

Qualcomm plans to showcase its latest technology called FastCV (Computer Vision), which can enable camera-based apps to do face and body language recognition. That alone might attract a few camera-based mobile app developers out there in Indonesia. Before the main event, there will also be the Appmazinc Roadshow, in Bogor and then Jakarta, on October 18 and 25 respectively. The whole event looks to be free.

Mobile Apps Competition

Kibar Kreasi is also holding a mobile apps competition. Participants must be able to submit a mobile app that use Qualcomm’s SDK that is available at Qualcomm Developer Network. The kit focuses on Vuforia (augmented reality) and FastCV SDK. Here are a few more details:

• App submission deadline: November 15
• Number of team members: Maximum of three persons
• Max number of apps: Two
• Prizes: IDR 12 million ($1,251) for main winner, IDR 8 million ($834) for second place, and IDR 5 million ($521) for third. All the winners will receive business development assistance by Qualcomm local brand partners.
