Financial Times Wins: Steve Jobs is the Person of the Year

Who is the Person of the Year 2010? TIME named Mark Zuckerberg while the Financial Times gave the honor to Steve Jobs. We were curious and threw the question to our readers (you). After 5 days and 300 votes, the winner clearly emerged.

Mark Zuckerberg’s 500 million connections and his accomplishments with Facebook are impressive. But that didn’t deter our readers to vote Steve Jobs as Person of the Year 2010. 59 percent of the respondents agreed with the Financial Time’s choice:

“When Steven Paul Jobs first hit the headlines, he was younger even than Mark Zuckerberg is now. Long before it was cool to be a nerd, his formative role in popularising the personal computer, and Apple’s initial public offering on Wall Street – which came when Mr Jobs was still only 25 – made him the tech industry’s first rock star.”
