Singtel’s NCS acquires digital services startup 2359 Media

NCS, Singtel Group’s information, communications and technology (ICT) arm, announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire 2359 Media, a Singapore-based digital services consultancy.

Under the deal, 2359 Media will become part of Next, the digital unit of NCS. Founded in 2009, the startup uses cloud-based technologies to develop custom-built mobile apps, platforms, and websites for clients across sectors including financial services, media, healthcare, and retail.

The acquisition will give NCS clients access to a range of digital services from design thinking, rapid prototyping, cloud-native application development, among other digital solutions.

NCS is seeing greater demand for digital services from both its public and commercial sector clients, driven by Covid-19, said CEO Ng Kuo Pin. The company is currently present in 15 cities across Asia Pacific.

According to a report by Research and Markets, the global digital transformation market is expected to reach US$1.39 trillion by 2027, with the Asia-Pacific region will accounting for US$379.95 billion.
