Singapore’s Carro launches remote showrooms accessible through its app
Southeast Asian automotive marketplace Carro has launched a feature that would bring showrooms into malls and parking lots and allow interested buyers to inspect the cars using its mobile app.

With Showroom Anywhere’s initial launch, Carro said it will place a selection of vehicles at the Tiong Bahru Plaza in Singapore. Displayed cars are scheduled to be refreshed weekly based on Carro’s AI-powered algorithm, which will predict which types of vehicles would be most in demand.
Potential buyers will be able to make viewing appointments, unlock the cars, and get support from sales agents through the Carro app. Test drive appointments can then be made for a later date. Only one person or family member will be able to inspect a vehicle at a time for health and safety reasons, according to a statement.
“Businesses need to be where their customers are, and for us, being in the neighborhood malls was a natural choice as we re-imagine the car-buying experience for drivers,” said Carro founder and CEO Aaron Tan.
The company said the feature will be expanded to other malls in Singapore, as well as other countries in Southeast Asia. Its launch comes after Carro raised over US$110 million in October last year, claiming then to have remained EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) positive for the previous three months.
