Flash Coffee, a Singapore-headquartered coffee startup, has laid off employees across the different markets it operates in, reported The Business Times, citing the LinkedIn posts of former personnel.
Flash Coffee did not respond to Tech in Asia’s request for comments. According to LinkedIn, the startup employs over 600 people.
The Rocket Internet-backed firm raised US$32.8 million in the first close of its series B funding round in July.
Founded by ex-Foodpanda chief marketing officer David Brunier and former Bain and Company executive Sebastian Hannecker in 2020, Flash Coffee offers premium coffee at reasonable prices.
It has a presence in Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan. The company earlier shared plans to expand into the Philippines, Malaysia, and Vietnam by the end of 2022.
