Singapore and Taipei game shows shake hands, agree to indie dev exchange

Taipei Game Show is going all out for indie developers this year. It will be hosting an exhibition area called the Indie Game Festa at its upcoming show at the end of January, where about 100 companies will be showcasing their games. But better than that, it’ll be doing this together with Singapore’s game show, GameStart.

GameStart Asia had an indie exhibition area at its inaugural show last October. Local indie developers like Witching Hour Studio and Inzen Studio took up spots there to share their games with visitors. Other game-related startups were there too, and two such participants from GameStart 2014, visual development studio Liongeeks and indie figurine producers Kinetiquettes, will be at Taipei Game Show together with GameStart.

It’s vice versa for Taipei Game Show, which will be present at GameStart 2015 with a host of Taiwanese indie developers. Details on this have yet to be confirmed, but we’ll update as soon as we find how out you can participate.

Game shows in Asia commonly facilitate cross-country exchanges. Tokyo Game Show usually features developers from Southeast Asia through the ASEAN-Japan center, while G-Star 2014 had an ASEAN pavilion in the show courtesy of the ASEAN-Korea center.
