After closing down its crowd insurance service in July due to regulatory issues, Indonesia-based online fundraising platform Kitabisa has launched Kitajaga, a website offering life insurance products, reported DailySocial.
Details:
- Vikra Ijas, Kitabisa’s chief product officer, said that the service currently isn’t live, and users that want to try it out will be put on a waiting list. The company plans to roll out Kitajaga later this year.
- To provide the service, Kitabisa is working with insurance companies PasarPolis and Asuransi Takaful Keluarga.

- Earlier this year, Kitabisa launched a mutual aid platform called Saling Jaga, similar to Ant Group’s Xiang Hu Bao and Tencent-backed Waterdrop in China, where users can receive medical coverage as long as they agree to help pay the medical expenses of other participants.
- However, the Indonesian Financial Service Authority closed down the service in May, citing its lack of an insurance license.
