Shit Happens. Let’s Clean it up

It’s not easy to be an entrepreneur. And no one can portray the level of difficulty in words either. It’s a huge mountain that you climb. When things are rosy, people are happy. The real test is when shit happens, and it usually does happen, because an entrepreneurs usually has to take on multiple roles. A good friend told me:

You are running business that comes with paperwork, finance, auditing, book-keeping, investor relations, communications, team building, a business model, product… [The list goes on…]

That’s a lot of stuff and I don’t think anyone can claim to be able to ace every role. The truth is, we all have flaws. But that shouldn’t be an excuse.

Most of the entrepreneurs I know are very young, most of them fresh grads. And the old generals would likely wonder what the hell do they know about business anyway. They are right most of time. But ignorance is bliss too. Young folks usually do not understand the risk and challenge, and maybe that’s why they have the courage to be entrepreneurs. Along the way they will surely make mistakes and hopefully are able to turn things right when shit happens before their bank balance hits $0 and lands them in the dead-pool.

But whether you’re young or old entrepreneurs, shit always happens. Always. The entrepreneur who cleans it up fast will have a better chance at winning. So if shit happens, don’t give in. Grab a brush and clean it up. Sparkling clean.
