We were tipped off by reader Margo Putra Irawan to this post, which questions if Indonesian Dota 2 team Rex Regum Qeon is disbanding.
Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) might not be a household name in Southeast Asian eSports, but it’s a relatively senior Dota 2 team in Indonesia and recently played at The International 4 Southeast Asia qualifiers. While it didn’t make it to the top four placings, RRQ did have a good run, and there’s no reason to suspect it is giving up.
Still, this tweet from the team is pretty worrying:
The first sentence, written in Bahasa Indonesia, says “thanks to all who love games, especially the Indonesian Dota 2 community”, followed by “it’s been a long journey, it’s time to sit down and think about everything,” in English.
Rex Regum Qeon was originally known as team XcN, and reinvented itself with a name change. Is this just another attempt to ward off bad fengshui by changing its name yet again?
