Rising startups on Tech In Asia: groceries, online restaurants, and more

1. BigBasket (India)
BigBasket, an online grocery platform, closed US$150 million in a funding round led by Mirae Asset-Naver Asia Growth Fund, Alibaba, and UK government-owned CDC Group. More info.
2. GoBear (Singapore)
Financial marketplace GoBear raised US$80 million in funding from Walvis Participaties and Aegon. The funds will be used to fuel the startup’s regional expansion. More info.
3. OneDegree (Hong Kong)
OneDegree, an insurtech startup, has extended its series A round to more than US$30 million. BitRock Capital led the A2 round. More info.
4. Grain (Singapore)
Grain, an online restaurant that delivers food to customers, raised US$10 million in a series B round led by Singha Ventures. Grain will use the funds to strengthen its infrastructure and growth in Singapore, as well as expand to other markets starting with Thailand. More info.
5. CollegeDekho (India)
Edtech startup CollegeDekho raised US$8 million from parent company Girnarsoft Education Services, as well as from London-based private equity firm Man Capital. More info.
6. TagBox (India)
Logistics tech developer TagBox raised US$3.85 million in a series A funding round led by TVS Motor Company. The funds will be used for further research and development, as well as for global expansion. More info.
7. Pencil (Singapore)
Pencil, a creative AI platform for digital advertising, raised around US$1.1 million in a seed funding round led by Wavemaker Partners. SGInnovate and Entrepreneur First participated in the round. More info.
8. Skillenza (India)
Skillenza, a recruitment platform, raised US$1 million in pre-series A funding round led by CBA Capital’s Education Catalyst Fund. The funds will be used for expansion into smaller Indian cities. More info.
9. Kargo (Myanmar)
Kargo raised US$800,000 in a pre-series A funding round led by Cocoon Capital. The funds will be used for expansion to new markets. More info.
10. Stockbit (Indonesia)
Stockbit, a stock investing app, raised an undisclosed amount of series A funding led by East Ventures with participation from Convergence Ventures, FreakOut, and other angel investors. The funds will be used to improve the company’s pace of growth. More info.
11. 7.5 Degree (Singapore)
7.5 Degree, a media and services platform that helps Chinese businesses in Southeast Asian startups, raised funding for an undisclosed amount from East Ventures. More info.
12. Waresix (Indonesia)
Waresix, which aims to provide an end-to-end logistics solution in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries, recently closed a funding round for an undisclosed amount. The startup is now testing its products and services in Thailand. More info.
13. Warung Pintar (Indonesia)
Warung Pintar has more than US$35 million in a year in its bid to bring technology and internet commerce to micro businesses in Southeast Asia. Many of these businesses are small, family-run stores selling basic items like toiletries, snacks, and drinks. More info.
14. AgromeIQ (Brunei)
Smart farming startup AgromeIQ raised a six-figure pre-series A funding amount from Singapore-based Cerana Capital. The company will use the funds for product development and regional growth. More info.
