This Malaysian startup has 12m users worldwide. Here’s how it runs its 58-strong team

Founded in 2012, Piktochart is a visual communication tool for non-designers.

It started out as one of the first do-it-yourself infographic makers in the market. Since then, it has expanded to accommodate different formats for visual storytelling, including infographics, presentations, reports, and posters. The 58-person team now serves over 12 million users worldwide, with most of them coming from the US.

Here’s how Piktochart runs its team at its headquarters in Penang, Malaysia.

Forty-one employees work in Piktochart’s 15,000 square-foot office in Penang. The rest of the team works remotely. Another office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital, is in the works.
