Delhi-based accelerator TLabs has lined up the seven startups that will present to investors at its demo day on June 21. The spring batch – TLabs’ third ever bunch of graduates – is a nice mix of consumer-oriented sites, apps, and services. Here’s the list:
-
iExperience – As India’s online shoppers mature as consumers, they’ll start demanding more interesting items and travel destinations. That’s what iExperience offers – everything from parasailing near Guragon to a Harley Davidson tour of Delhi. There’s a lot of fun stuff on there.
-
Happay – This is a mobile wallet app and service aimed at Indian online shoppers. It already has an Android app. Users can load in some money from numerous debit or credit cards and then use Happay at some partner sites or to pay friends. But as with many mobile wallet services, it seems very limited in usefulness at offline stores.
-
Oogwave – Oogwave is an enterprise-oriented online collaboration service that is already pretty well established with corporate customers around the world.
-
Offermandi – This is a shopping search engine that focuses on offline stores. At the moment it focuses only on phones, and only for retail locations in Jaipur. We’ve seen the same thing before with Pricebaba, which operates in Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi.
-
Woome – The only social startup of the bunch, Woome is a mobile app for people to engage while watching TV and other big events.
-
GradeStack – Venturing over into education now, this startup is an online learning and courses platform.
-
Langhar – The tastiest of the bunch is Langhar, a site for people to purchase home-made food in their area. The cooks are regular people who can earn an income from this.
Indian startups who want to get into the fall batch can find out more info on the TLabs blog. Mentors on the program include ZipDial founder and CEO Valerie Rozycki Wagoner, Flurry’s Aakrit Vaish, and Infibeam’s Neeru Sharma, so there will be plenty of expert guidance.
