Indonesian online printing platform Printerous secures series A funding

Printerous, an Indonesia-based online printing and packaging platform, announced that it has raised an undisclosed amount of series A funding in a round led by BAce Capital, AddVentures, GDP Venture, and Gobi Agung. Existing investor Sovereign’s Capital also participated in the round.

The company said it will use the new funds to ramp up its technology infrastructure, expand to 30 cities in Indonesia, and focus on growing the business in a sustainable way.

Founded in 2012 as an Instagram photo-printing service, Printerous has now evolved into a one-stop printing and packaging solution for individuals, enterprises, as well as micro, small, and medium-sized businesses.

The startup said it aims to facilitate and digitize the business operations of Indonesian MSMEs, which form a vital part of the country’s economy. It looks to tap into Indonesia’s digital economy, which grew 49% in the past five years, according to a report from Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company.

“Micro, small, and medium enterprises in Indonesia face difficulties in designing, ordering, as well as distributing the prints and packaging supplies,” said Kevin Osmond, founder and CEO at Printerous. “Printerous aggregates printing and logistic service providers to solve those problems, making the entire process more cost-efficient, convenient, and transparent for MSMEs.”

The startup, which claims to have been profitable since last year, said it currently has partnerships with more than 250 printing and logistics service providers and has served over 35,000 businesses.

Printerous secured angel funding in 2015, followed by a US$1.4 million pre-series A round led by Singapore’s Golden Gate Ventures in 2017.
