SG healthtech firm bags $10m from Mitsui, others
Aktivolabs, a Singapore-based healthtech startup, has raised US$10 million in a series A funding round led by Adaptive Capital Partners, Seeds Capital, and Japan-based Mitsui.
HH Investments and Govin Capital also participated in the round. The deal pushed the firm’s total funding raised to date to US$12.6 million.

Founded in 2017, Aktivolabs uses real-time data from smartphones and wearable devices to predict and prevent chronic diseases. It also helps insurance firms create new products that relate to their policyholders’ lifestyles.
It currently operates in Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Australia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Macau, and the United Arab Emirates.
Aktivolabs was established by National University of Singapore professor David Lai, Camtech founder Meng-Han Kuok, as well as Gourab Mukherjee, who has years of experience in the health and tech sectors.

The firm plans to use the fresh funding for product development, hiring, and geographic expansion purposes. It also aims to expand its operations in Southeast Asia, Europe, and the US.
