Singapore F&B tech startup receives Nest Tech backing

Vietnamese venture capital fund Nest Tech announced that it has invested an undisclosed amount in Waitrr, a Singapore-based mobile food ordering and payments solution startup.

The investment will help Waitrr expand its operations in Southeast Asia, according to a Nest Tech statement. The food and beverage startup is eyeing Vietnam and Myanmar for its next rollout, given the VC firm’s presence in those countries.

Founded in 2015, Waitrr’s solution helps more than 200 restaurants in Singapore increase floor staff efficiency and table turnover rates through automated order-taking and payment processing.

“We see Waitrr’s technology as the logical next step in the F&B space, and already, the platform is showing a tremendous pace of uptake among diners in Singapore,” said Soe Moe Kyaw Oo, Nest Tech’s founder and managing partner.

Set up just last year, Nest Tech recently backed Singapore-based edtech startup Kalpha, investing an undisclosed six-figure amount.
