Nise Koi Maji Kore review: Straight up digital prostitution

Ever wanted to feel up high school girls, but felt like time in prison was just too high of a cost? If so, you may want to consider heading to the Japanese Apple Store and download Konami’s Nise Koi Maji Kore – apart from seeking help for your condition, of course.

Nise Koi was originally an anime that featured two high schoolers, Raku and Chitoge, whose parents led rival gangs. In hopes to bring an end to a long lasting feud between the gangs, a marriage between Raku and Chitoge was arranged. Even though the two characters hated each other, they kept up a Nise Koi, or fake love.

This mobile adaptation has NOTHING to do with that. Although Nise Koi Maji Kore does borrow a couple girl characters from the show, there is no comedy, no gang fighting, no story, only hanging out with one of different girls.

While hanging out, you can touch their bodies up to ten times in hopes of collecting cards and raising their affection levels. Once you collect enough cards, you then use them to build up the girl’s stats. These stats can be later used to purchase different costumes. If you run out of the allotted touching times, you can buy this girl a drink, which she will gratefully drink and allow you to touch some more.

Gross, right?

It only gets worse. On top of purchasing different costumes for the girls, you can unlock phrases for the girls to say. Things like, “Don’t I look more like an adult when I wear glasses?” or “I wonder if I would make this look better if I were a bit older.”

…yikes…

Although the game itself makes me feel all icky inside, I will say that Nise Koi does do a couple of things really well. As you would expect from a game all about sex, Nise Koi looks great. Everything is colorful and really well designed.

Fans of the series will be happy to hear that not only do the girls look the same from the anime, but they sound the same too. The game uses the same talented voice actors from the original anime, which is a major plus. The background music was very poppy and fit the game incredibly well.

If I have any complaints about the sound, it is that the music would suddenly stop. This was very off putting, and left you with only the voice of the high school girl.

On top of being shiny, and shall we say sexy, the game does have an interesting and well designed level up system. As you rub the girls you will be rewarded with cards. These cards can be used to give attribute points to different areas of interest. You can up a girl’s athleticism, intelligence, or femininity depending on what the cards focus on. As mentioned above, these points can then be used to purchase different costumes.
