Google CEO served contempt notice by Mumbai court

A Mumbai court has issued a contempt notice to Google CEO Sundar Pichai.

This follows an alleged failure by YouTube to comply with a Bombay High Court order requiring the removal of a defamatory video.

It asks why contempt proceedings should not be started against Pichai for the non-compliance.

The video in question is titled “Pakhandi Baba ki Kartut,” targeting the animal welfare organization Dhyan Foundation and its founder, Yogi Ashwini.

It accused Google of failing to remove the content despite a High Court order dated March 31 of this year.
