Google has unveiled a feature in its iOS app called “Page Annotations,” which automatically converts highlighted text on some websites into links directed to Google Search results.

Notably, prior consent from users or web publishers is not required. Web publishers can choose to disable this feature. To do so, they need to complete a form provided by Google.

Google says it will take up to 30 days to deactivate the feature on the requested sites.

Publishers must list all domain variations, including “www and non-www,” “http and https,” and subdomains.
