China’s gaming market hits $44.8b, highest since 2003
China’s video gaming industry generated sales of 325.8 billion yuan (US$44.8 billion) in 2024, marking a 7.53% increase from the previous year.
This figure is the highest annual sales since tracking began in 2003.
However, it indicates slower growth compared to the double-digit increases of previous years.
The number of gamers in China rose by 0.94%, reaching 674 million.
The report attributes this growth to the popularity of new titles, particularly in mobile and single-player gaming.
