NetEase said to cut jobs due to game underperformance
NetEase, China’s second-largest video gaming company, has reportedly terminated jobs linked to a project scheduled for shutdown.
Employees affected were part of the development team for Hyper Front, a tactical team-based mobile shooter game launched on August 30 in China.
The decision to discontinue the project was made after it failed to meet performance expectations.
Despite over 10 million pre-launch reservations, the game could not achieve the desired success, according to an anonymous source.
