Migo, an Indonesia-based digital content distributor, has raised US$20 million in the first close of its series C round led by local media conglomerate MNC Group.
A second close of the round is expected in the coming months, with additional investors participating, Migo said in a statement.
Previously, MNC Group – through its subsidiary MNC Vision Network – injected US$40 million into Migo.
Through its tie-up with MNC Group, Migo gets support for its on-demand digital entertainment services by gaining access to the conglomerate’s content library. The companies formed an onshore joint venture in 2021, which pushed Migo’s network coverage up to 30 million people.
In its latest fundraise, Migo said it aims to expand its coverage to half of Indonesia’s population as well as to improve its tech and penetrate new markets outside the archipelago.

Launched in 2020, Migo has over 1,700 fixed retail locations. Its data distribution service allows customers to download a full-length feature film in less than 60 seconds.
The company is building a new direct-transfer tech that will allow customers to move content directly between devices in 30 seconds.
