With the investment, the company will focus on opening new centers in Ho Chi Minh City and upgrading the current syllabus for design, 3D drawing, and VR/AR, MindX co-founder and CEO Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said.

“MindX is working with leading schools in top countries […] worldwide, such as the US, Singapore, and South Korea, in order to select the most suitable method that fits Vietnamese students’ culture and learning style,” she said.

The startup aims to build an ecosystem that includes co-working spaces and schools for new skill sets like programming, robotics, design, and 3D drawing, among others.

Programming and science have become mandatory subjects from elementary school at MindX. According to a statement, education in Vietnam is prioritized with the expenditure accounting for the highest percentage of GDP in Southeast Asia (4.7% in 2018).

MindX was founded in 2015 with the goal of helping students, especially those in primary and secondary schools, to learn and experience skills in the most comprehensive way, integrating theory and practice in a startup environment.

According to the company, students from the age of six could be trained to successfully program mobile apps for studying and entertainment purposes.

MindX claims it now has five centers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, training more than 8,500 students and working adults. Its ecosystem hosts more than 200 domestic and international startups and investment funds such as Wefit, Ninja Van, and Nextrans Capital, among others.
