Mesh Bio to expand healthcare platform’s SEA reach with new capital (update)

East Ventures has led a US$3.5 million series A round in Mesh Bio, a Singapore-based healthtech startup. Investors who participated in the round include Elev8 and Seed Capitals, as well as other existing shareholders.

The company will use the funding to offer its digital twin technologies to healthcare providers and scale the deployment of these solutions across Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, particularly in Indonesia and the Philippines.

With non-communicable or chronic diseases accounting for 62% of deaths in Southeast Asia, Mesh Bio aims to identify patients at risk of chronic diseases for earlier diagnosis and treatment. The company was founded by Andrew Wu and Arsen Batagov in 2018.

It runs a health intelligence platform called Dara, which provides real-time patient data such as health history, lab tests, and medical images. The visual data enables doctors to counsel patients and, in turn, allows patients to get a better understanding of their reports.

Dara has been used by over 120 medical centers across Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia for preventive health screening.
