Rising startups on Tech In Asia: queueing apps, on-demand logistics, and more
Which are the startups that are on the path to becoming the next big thing? In this regular post, we give you an overview of the companies that have raised money in the past week, as well as those we think investors should look at.
1. Waresix (Indonesia)
Waresix, a logistics startup offering on-demand warehouse and freight solutions, raised US$14.5 million in a series A round led by EV Growth, with participation from SMDV and Jungle Ventures. It will use the fresh funds to expand its land transportation and warehousing network. More info.
2. Ritase (Indonesia)
Logistics startup Ritase raised US$8.5 million in a series A funding round led by Golden Gate Ventures, with participation from Jafco Asia and ZWC Partners. It will use the fresh capital to launch more features in its trucking Software-as-a-Service platform. More info.
3. SweetEscape (Indonesia)
AI photography platform SweetEscape secured US$6 million in a series A round led by Openspace Ventures and Jungle Ventures. Burda Principal Investments, as well as other existing investors, participated in the round. The startup plans to expand its team and operations across Asia. More info.
4. QueQ (Thailand)
Queuing app QueQ secured US$2.8 million in a series A round from True Incube and Bon Angels Venture Partners. The startup partners with food and beverage establishments and allows app users to reserve queueing tickets when within the vicinity of these places. More info.
5. GoComet (Singapore)
GoComet, a freight management platform, raised around US$2.2 million in a series A round led by Leo Capital, with participation from SGInnovate, August One, and India Quotient. The startup is expanding its operations across Southeast Asia. More info.
6. Mighty Jaxx (Singapore)
Design studio Mighty Jaxx, which collaborates with artists globally to create limited-edition collectibles, secured roughly US$1.58 million in a pre-series A investment round led by Eight Mercatus with participation from SGInnovate. It will use the fresh capital to further develop its proprietary tech platform and fund its global expansion. More info.
7. UrbanAgents (Singapore)
AI-powered proptech platform UrbanAgents secured roughly US$1.47 million in seed investment from FarSight Capital, APAC Realty, and angel investors. It will use the fresh capital to further develop its AI capabilities. More info.
8. ConsoliAds (Singapore)
ConsoliAds, an ad management and optimization platform, snagged US$1 million in a series A round led by 47 Ventures. The fresh funds will help the startup strengthen its presence across Asia Pacific, as well as conduct further research and development. More info.
9. SiamCarDeal (Thailand)
Car-listing site SiamCarDeal bagged US$300,000 in seed funding from 500 TukTuks, along with angel investors. It will use the funds to expand its service offering for showrooms. More info.
10. Kredivo (Indonesia)
Digital credit card startup Kredivo secured an undisclosed amount of investment from MDI Ventures and Telkomsel Mitra Inovasi. It partners with e-commerce and POS platforms in Indonesia. More info.
11. Noviscient (Singapore)
Noviscient uses machine learning and AI to find alpha investors and provide them with access to a large pool of capital. The company aims to have a total of US$52 million in assets under management by the end of 2019. More info.
The next group of startups secured funding from Antler, a startup accelerator and early-stage venture capital firm in Singapore, as part of its second cohort. More info.

Sama is a startup that operates a platform that matches workers with jobs overseas, starting with the construction industry.

Education platform Eskwelabs aims to make in-person bootcamps, digital learning, and career coaching accessible to people regardless of socioeconomic status.
