Thai queuing app launches in Malaysia after $2.8m round

QueQ, a Thailand-based startup that created an app to help people avoid long lines, has launched its services in Malaysia after recently raising US$2.8 million in a series A round.

Investors for the round include local startup incubator True Incube and South Korean venture capital firm Bon Angels Venture Partners.

Through the app, QueQ wants to help its users save time. It also looks to serve businesses by reducing the indirect cost that comes with customers’ waiting time.

The app allows users to reserve queuing tickets if they’re within a certain distance set by establishments. They can monitor the queue length in real time and receive a notification if they’re getting close to the top of the queue.

QueQ also rolled out its Key Partner Program 2019, which will offer benefits to its food and beverage partner establishments.

“We realized the potential of this solution to help the other sectors like the banks, hospitals, clinics, telcos, government service centers, and other customer service centers, which are often faced with [long lines], and we are confident it will help them better optimize the queuing time,” Rungsun Joh Promprasith, CEO and founder of QueQ, said.
