“Social commerce platform Meesho and its logistics partner Shadowfax have been served a legal notice over the alleged ghost orders scam, where resellers on Meesho send fraudulent orders to people who have never placed them,” reported Entrackr.
Details:
- BananaIP Counsels, a Bengaluru-based intellectual property law firm, has served a legal notice to Meesho over the alleged fraudulent activity. The law firm also sent a notice to Google to take the application down from its app store.
- On August 5, BananaIP had sent a notice to Shadowfax after one of the legal firm’s senior employees fell for the supposed fake orders scam, but the logistics company did not respond. BananaIP then sent a second notice on August 9, marking Meesho on it.
