Tin Pei Ling, a member of parliament in Singapore, has joined DCS – previously known as Diners Club Singapore – as its managing director for strategic partnerships and business development. This follows her stint at Grab as its director of corporate development.
In a LinkedIn post, Tin said that she was interested in joining DCS as she could have a “more active role” in the business and strategic aspects of payments. She added that she will work on building strategic partnerships to strengthen the firm’s position in the payments landscape.
After introducing cashless payments in Singapore in the 1970s, DCS changed its name in August to indicate its innovation and plot its comeback against giants like Visa and Mastercard.
One of its new features is the DCS Token, a dollar-backed payment token that enables secure and smooth connections between Web3 and Web2 payment solutions. “This new move will effectively allow customers to leverage the best of both worlds,” Tin noted.
Before joining DCS, Tin worked at Grab for seven months. She initially joined the firm as its Singapore director of public affairs and policy but was later moved to a corporate development position.
