Korea's Top 10 Most Popular PC Games (July 2013)

A few months ago, we took a look at the top PC games in Korea. But now that spring has exploded into a fiery summer, have Korean gamers changed their habits? What game is dominating the charts now in Korea? Via Chinese gaming site 17173, we’ve got this list of the top games in Korean Internet cafés this week. Let’s take a look!

  1. League of Legends
  2. FIFA Online 3
  3. Sudden Attack
  4. Aion Online
  5. Blade & Soul
  6. Lineage
  7. Starcraft
  8. Maplestory
  9. Warcraft 3
  10. Cyphers (Apologies, this one doesn’t have a Wikipedia entry in English)

As you can see, not much has changed. FIFA gained a place, StarCraft lost a place, and Diablo is out of the running altogether. The only new addition to the list is Maplestory. Since there are no seismic shifts here, it’s difficult to draw any conclusions. But it may be worth noting that two of the games that dropped (Diablo 3 and StarCraft) are Blizzard games. Is the company falling out of favor in Korea? That seems unlikely given that it still has two games in the top 10. But both StarCraft and Warcraft 3 are growing old, and with Diablo’s popularity on the wane, it’s not clear whether Blizzard can continue its Korean dominance for much longer.

It’s also worth mentioning that League of Legends is dominating Asia right now; it was also the top PC game in China last month.
