Korea’s Actoz Soft joins forces with Square Enix for Million Arthur Facebook game spin-off
What happens when the Million Arthurs in Million Arthur fail to protect Britain and the mirror in the lake malfunctions? According to Square Enix and South Korean developer-publisher Actoz Soft, the Arthurs somehow magically make their way to the Middle Kingdom and drop straight into a Romance of the Three Kingdoms story where they must search for a missing king.
South Korean developer-publisher Actoz Soft will be launching the English edition of Million 演義 (Lore), a Romance of the Three Kingdoms–Million Arthur Facebook game mash-up jointly developed with Square Enix, in four days time. The English name for this game is, according to the trailer above, “Carmen of Gladius”, but let’s not even bother with that since it makes absolutely no sense.
While the trailer doesn’t show any gameplay, the game will purportedly allow players to engage in “RvR” combat not seen in Million Arthur, engaging players from the kingdoms Wei, Shu, and Wu in massive realm-versus-realm combat. The ultimate goal of Million 演義 (Lore) sounds similar to strategy city-management games: pillage and loot to occupy more and more kingdoms.

However, Million 演義 (Lore) hasn’t forgotten its card game origins. If users successfully take over or defend their castles on the field, that is to say they win their battles, they will receive rare cards and in-game items. Top-ranked users will get rare cards and items no matter who wins.
Like Million Arthur, the card artwork in Million 演義 (Lore) is no slouch, with some of it having been provided by illustrators who worked on Blade & Soul. There are reportedly more famous Korean and Japanese illustrators who worked on the art, as well as renowned Japanese voice actors.
Million 演義 (Lore) will launch on May 8, 2014, as an English language Facebook game. There are also Korean and Chinese editions on the way. You can check it out here.
