Avarni, a Sydney-based carbon management startup, has raised US$3 million in a series A funding round led by Main Sequence and joined by existing investors Vulpes Ventures and Common Sense Ventures.

In a statement received by Tech in Asia, the company said it will use the fresh funding to “streamline the future of carbon management.”
Mike Zimmerman, partner at Main Sequence, will join the Avarni board following the investment.
Avarni was founded in 2021 by CEO Tony Yammine, chief product officer Misha Cajic, and CTO Anuj Paudel. Using AI, the firm helps businesses understand and address their emissions exposure.
The company said it could speed up the assessment, planning, and tracking of carbon emissions. It also allows aids in forecasting various decarbonisation scenarios.
Avarni has analyzed more than US$100 billion in corporate spending data and 150 million tonnes of CO2e in supply chains. Its clients include consulting firms such as KPMG Australia, Point B, and 5B.
