Upbit operator allocates $380m to generate 10,000 jobs
Dunamu, a fintech company based in South Korea, will inject US$380 million into 500 startups to generate 10,000 jobs over the next five years, The Korea Herald reported.
The firm, which operates local crypto exchange platform Upbit, aims to create 8,000 roles to drive startup counseling programs such as Up Start Incubator, which aims to guide Web3 startups, and and Up Start Platform, which will link companies, investors, and Dunamu.
Dunamu is also looking to hire about 1,000 staff for developer roles and to open consultation centers for Upbit users in Daegu, Gwangju, Busan, and Daejon.
Earlier in the year, the blockchain company unveiled plans to form a joint venture in the US with Hybe, a South Korean entertainment company. The new entity, which was set for a July launch, will feature NFT merchandise for Hybe’s artist roster, which includes K-pop sensation BTS. Fans will be able to buy, trade, and showcase these digital assets.
