InMobi Makes Mobile Ad Deal With Detikcom in Indonesia

inmobi-detik

Fresh off its recent rebranding, mobile advertising company InMobi is off to a strong start in 2012, today announcing that it has landed an exclusive two-year advertising deal with Indonesia’s largest online news portal, Detikcom. Readers may recall that Detikcom was acquired by Para Group last year.

Detikcom sees over 25 million page views a day and has over 2.2 million users on “smart devices.” According to today’s announcement, the partnership will see InMobi bring mobile ads to Detikcom’s customers, and that includes its iOS and Android apps. Gerry Leo Nugroho, the group head of marketing service at detikcom noted:

[W]e wanted a mobile ad network with the global reach and local market experience to provide the best brand experiences to our growing mobile consumer base. InMobi’s rich media capabilities combined with evolving smartphone and tablet technologies will allow advertisers to realise truly engaging and easy to navigate mobile-optimized ad formats.

It’s another big win for InMobi, as Indonesia is an emerging mobile market that everyone seems to want a piece of these days. The company says that 82 percent of mobile web users in the country are “primarily or exclusively” going on the web via mobile. For those of us who live tethered to a PC, that’s a pretty foreign concept. But it appears to be the norm in Indonesia.

InMobi also has its eye on China as well, so we can likely expect to hear more big things around Asia from the company in the future.
