Scaler, an India-based edtech firm, has acquired Pepcoding for an undisclosed amount to support the former’s B2B enterprise, strategy, and product design functions, among others.

Both firms have merged their teams, and Pepcoding co-founder Sumeet Malik has also joined Scaler as an instructor and content creator.

This marks Scaler’s fourth acquisition after the firm bought Coding Minutes, Coding Elements, and AppliedRoots.

Malik, along with co-founder Neha Singh, founded Pepcoding in 2017. The platform features computer science-related programs, such as web development and business analytics for undergraduates. According to its website, the startup also offers a guaranteed job program.

The firm said it has worked with 5,000 students since its establishment, resulting in over 500 students hired by companies such as Microsoft, SAP, and Google.

Meanwhile, Scaler was founded by Anshuman Singh and Abhimanyu Saxena in 2019. The two are also the founders of Scaler’s parent firm, InterviewBit.

Scaler, which focuses on upskilling college students and tech professionals, said that on average, users gained a 4.5x return on investment and a salary hike of around 126%.

The firm has raised US$76.5 million to date and said it is “operationally profitable.”
