Bluelearn, an India-based social learning startup, has raised US$3.5 million in a seed round led by Elevation Capital and Lightspeed. The round also saw participation from Titan Capital, 2am VC, as well as Meesho founders Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal, among others.
The startup plans to use the funds to grow its community user base by 10x within the year. It said in a statement that its app now has more than 150,000 members from over 5,500 colleges and startups around the world.
Founded in 2021 by Harish Uthayakumar and Shreyans Sancheti, Bluelearn began as a Telegram channel where students helped each other with common questions.
The team now hosts events like AMAs (ask me anything) with entrepreneurs, gaming tournaments, music concerts, and hackathons, catering to students and early-career working professionals. Its internship and freelancing platform, Bluelearn Work, matches members with companies looking to hire talent.
“We envision that Bluelearn will be the social learning destination for networking, upskilling, and discovering the first employment opportunity for Gen Z,” says Amit Aggarwal, principal at Elevation Capital.
