Engine banks $43m in one of the largest series A rounds in Singapore’s biotech space
Singapore- and Silicon Valley-based Engine Biosciences has raised S$57 million (US$43 million) in what it says is the largest series A funding for a biotech company in Singapore. The fundraise pushes Engine’s total amount raised to date to over US$52 million.

- Engine Biosciences said it’s progressing its biology findings into drug discovery programs and plans to use the fresh capital to expand its portfolio of precision oncology therapeutics.
- The company also looks to prepare for its first clinical programs and further develop its NetMappr platform, which integrates machine learning into biological experiments and drug discovery.
- It plans to explore collaborations to apply its platform’s capabilities in discovering treatments for other disease areas as well.
- To date, Engine Biosciences said it has performed a number of large-scale computational and experimental cycles that have led to validated discoveries.
