Tiger Global, Accel co-lead $60m round of Indonesian quick commerce firm
Astro, an Indonesia-based quick commerce firm, has raised US$60 million in a series B round led by Accel, Citius, and Tiger Global, with participation from AC Ventures, Global Founders Capital, Lightspeed, and Sequoia Capital India.
The deal pushed the total amount raised by the startup to more than US$90 million to date.

Founded in 2021, Astro is an on-demand platform that can deliver groceries and fast-moving consumer goods in 15 minutes. It currently operates in almost 50 locations across Greater Jakarta and has more than 1,500 products available on its app.
In a statement, the company said that its revenue has grown more than 10x since the beginning of the year. It has collaborated with local businesses to launch private labels for several products such as coffee, bread, and seasonal treats.
The firm is founded by former Tokopedia executives Vincent Tjendra, Jessica Stephanie Jap, Sherlyn Gautama, and Wandi Budianto, along with Marcella Moniaga, who has experience with another Indonesian unicorn in Traveloka. Astro currently has more than 200 employees.
The quick commerce startup plans to use the fresh funding to hire more employees and expand its operations to reach more customers.
