Men make up 79 percent of e-reader users in Indonesia (INFOGRAPHIC)

Indonesia’s e-reader app Scoop 1 today published an infographic about the country’s e-publishing landscape. It talks about some data and statistics that can be useful for other e-book players in Indonesia. The data is compiled from Scoop’s own statistics. Scoop reports 1.5 million app downloads of which 30 percent are active users. The app has 650 magazines, 10,000 books, and 55 newspapers. Scoop delivers over two million editions to users annually.

The infographic reveals that mostly men use the e-reader app, with the majority on iOS devices. The biggest readers come from Indonesia’s Java island. The infographic shows the peak hour reading difference between magazines, books, and newspaper readers, as well as the top free and paid books.

The startup received $2.4 million investment from local publishing giant Kompas Gramedia Group last April. In addition to Scoop News, founder Willson Cuaca reveals Scoop will launch another app for video sometime this quarter.
