Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm is in the process of expanding into Asia, and it just hit another milestone: getting rated by the Game Rating Board in South Korea.
According to Tencent Games, Heroes of the Storm has been given a rating of 12+, which means that children under the age of 12 cannot play the game unless accompanied by an adult. To achieve the rating, the game has reportedly been edited a bit to remove some of the blood and gore effects.
The game was given a 12+ rating, rather than the more lenient ALL rating, because the game revolves around human-like characters engaging in battle and destroying structures, and contains some spooky-looking characters like Stiches. But the Korean ratings board could also have chosen to give the game a more restrictive 15+ or 18 rating, so Blizzard is likely to be pleased with the 12+ rating the game has received.
