Singapore has launched a foundation to develop AI testing tools for the responsible use of the tech. This comes after concerns about the risks of AI and global debates about how to regulate it.
Josephine Teo, the country’s Minister of Communications and Information, announced the initiative at the Asia Tech x AI conference organized by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).
Called the AI Verify Foundation, the organization aims to enhance AI testing capabilities and assurance globally. The foundation’s toolkit, AI Verify, enables users to test their systems through a framework aligned with global standards.
The organization has seven premier members: IMDA, Temasek’s Aicadium, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Red Hat, and Salesforce. These firms will oversee the development of AI Verify’s roadmap, according to a statement.
More than 60 companies will also join the foundation as general members, including Meta, Adobe, and DBS.
